Citrine is a beautiful tortoiseshell female cat with an estimate age of 1-3 years old. She is named for the color of her eyes. She was rescued as an older kitten from one of the most hellish properties we have had to rescue from. She is so lucky to be out of that place. She showed signs of being friendly so we decided to not return her to that unhealthy environment and bring her into the Foster program. She is shy but also super sweet. She will hide, but will let you pet her and pick her up. Once she becomes comfortable, she loves being held and petted and will lay in your lap. Her personality is more mellow and she is not very active. It will take a long time for her to trust, so her new owner needs to be very patient and calm with her and give her a lot of time to bond. She is okay with other cats but doesn't necessarily interact with them. She needs to be adopted into a quiet household with no little kids, preferably with someone home most of the time to interact with her. She would be a perfect companion for an older person who is looking for a cat to love. Or potentially as a therapy cat if that person is quiet and calm.
